Frau Yoel Saarinen 🥀
16x23 cm
Watercolour - Rosa Gallery (Indigo 717)
Paper - Hahnemühle Watercolour Grain torchon 100% cotton 640g/m2
Decided to test some new (for me) watercolour paper. And I need something simple and pretty. Besides that I've got an idea in my mind that this painting should be done in watercolour monochrome technique also called grisaille. So I painted my lovely original character - Yoel. And she turned out not simple and pretty but very elegant and sophisticated. As she should be.
Some words about the paper. It's just perfect! I enjoyed a lot working on it. Maybe it's the best paper I ever tried

Harmony?...
16x23 cm
Watercolour - Rosa Gallery (Black Green 760)
Paper - Hahnemühle Harmony Watercolour hot pressed surface sized 300g/m2
Another one watercolour monochrome on Hahnemühle watercolour paper. And with original character again - this time with Niёnor. Just for fun, just to test.
This paper is super smooth, thick enough and really high quality, but... It's not my cup of tea. I prefer something more textured to make my work looks not so graphic(even in monochrome). Never the less it was really nice to paint on it and I can highly recommend it for those who is searching for really good smooth watercolour paper.

Elven Queen ✨🌿💚
16x23 cm
Watercolour - Rosa Gallery (Black Grape 747)
Paper - Hahnemühle Akademie Watercolour "D'Aqua" grain torchon 220g/m2
The last but not the least monochrome watercolour illustration on Hahnemühle watercolour paper. This time with light as a wind and bright as a star Elven Queen - Elisif.
And few words about the paper. It has really nice texture and gentle ivory colour. But (for me, ofc) it's too thin. It began to scroll from big amount of water and that's why I prefer paper with 300+ g/m2. This paper suitable for beginners or for those who wants to make super fast one-layered sketches with less water.
